Happy Fourth!

Just wanted to pop in with a *quick* share: I have been doing pretty well on card-making but not so much at card SENDING!! Yikes! So I wanted to send out a few before I left for vacation. This is a pretty simple one:

 

 

I tried to keep it simple but that butterfly was just beggin' to be embellished! I used Glossy Accents from Ranger and some Distress Stickles on the wings to give it just a *little* pop! I know some people don't like the Distress Stickles, but I find that they are PERFECT for projects that call for a little shine and texture but not necessarily a full-on GLITTER kind of thing!! A 'sparkley' glitter would have over-powered it, I think!

Anyway...

I hope you all have a great weekend lined up with fun, food, family and fireworks!!

And please say a prayer for the safety of those in harm's way who make it all possible!

CupCards {to go} July

Get 'em while they're HOT!! lol

Sonda put together SUCH an awesome kit this month!! Seriously, THIS one is my fav so far. Honest. I know I always say that, but it's always TRUE!! lol I tried SO hard to use it ALL for my DT preojects and I just COULDN'T because there is SO much!!

And this month you will receive this supa-cool specialty card & envie!! It was my favorite thing in the kit, I think!! Mine is *supposed* to be like a bakery bag with a cupcake inside...? I hope I pulled it off!! lol

Welcome July!

Ahhh...July!!! I love July! Why? Cuz it's HOT!!! lol Ok, that's not the *only* reason! I love having the kids home in the summer, and swimming, and warm nights with fireflies, s'mores...July is just full of the best parts of summer!

Ashlynn's birthday is also in July...that's a great excuse to have have family & friends over for cook-outs and ice-cream. Two *more* things to love about summer, right??

Oooh! And VACATIONS which is where I'm off to today! FUN!!

Well, today is my last big reveal for My Sketch World! It has been a blast! I really do love working with Lucy's sketches and will continue to be a regular visitor to the blog for sketches & inspiration!

Summertime

So...summer is in full-swing! I can't believe it's almost JULY!! We have had SO much rain in PA this summer that I feel cheated!! It's normally dry, and scorching hot every day by the end of June. Great swimming weather usually---but not this year! The kids have been swimming, but it's still WAY too cold for me!

Lots coming up in July! Let's see...July 1st will be my last project at My Sketch World. I have had such a blast using Lucy's sketches and will definately be playing along even after my DT commitment is over!

Also on July 1st:  CupCards {to go} JULY kit will be up for sale at 6PT! These will go FAST, I promise...so make sure to get there early and snag yours!! Also, the winners from last week's blog hoop should be up sometime today so make sure to check the site and see if you're a winner!!

July 1st I will be going away on vacation as well! YAY! Our annual trip to the beach---the kids are so excited! I am going to *try* to schedule some posts for while I'm away...

Yeah...definately starting July off with a bang!! July also marks my first pub with CARDS magazine!!! VERY excited about that!! Cards is my FAVORITE mag EVER so actually being IN it....wow!

School's out for summer!

FINALLY! Boy, am I ever looking forward to sleeping later than 6AM! We are already having a busy summer full of swimming, sleepovers, minor injuries and bugbites! lol And we are ready for more!

Before school was over, I decided to make a small gift for Ashlynn's teacher. I re-enrolled Ashlynn in public school in Feb. after homeschooling for a year and a half. Her teacher did a great job of helping her adjust and keeping me informed of how she was doing.

Naturally, I made her a set of cards!!

Forgive the pictures...as usual, I was up late the night before finishing up and had to take them in the dark!!

The set of card bases & envies came from the $1 spot at Michael's. It was a set of 12. I did 6 of this design, all the same with the exception of using different apple designs on each from THIS SET from Papertrey Ink. Papertrey Ink is PERFECT if you like to stamp GIFTS! And their DT *ROCKS*!

  

And then I did 6 different ones, going crazy with my Cricut, Glossy Accents, and glitter!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And finally...here's what it looked like all wrapped up & ready to give!

A Boy Card

Hello again!

This will be kinda short & sweet! I made this card for my nephew's 13th birthday. The paper was PERFECT for a TEENAGE boy, I think! It was actually really fast to make, too---it just kinda came together on it's own!

Welcome back, Mojo!

What a fun, BUSY weekend!

Saturday we had a surprise birthday party for a friend of mine at this great, new Japanese restaurant. Fun! Then out for drinks. More fun! Then today we had a surprise baby shower for another friend.

The weather was great all weekend and they were both TRUELY surprised when they arrived for their party/shower. I love seeing people's reactions to stuff like that! They were both so touched that their friends and family had gone to so much trouble for them. It was really fun to see.

Participating in the 2S4Y sketch REALLY got me excited about playing again! After I did that card, I managed to kick into high-gear and make bookmarks for our storybook-themed baby shower, a banner with the baby's name, and a birthday card for my friend as well as one for my nephew! Go, me! lol

So here is the card I made for my friend who is turning 40:

 

 

That is my new favorite card saying: on the inside it says: Of course we 22-year-olds can be very gullible! I love it!

2S4Y 1st Annual Ultimate Card Showdown!

Boy, that's a mouthful!! lol

So here's my entry---just by the skin of my teeth, too. I really wanted to take a good pic and the sun FINALLY made it's appearance today for the first time since Tuesday! Yuck!
