Ack! Every single timeI get good at posting, something comes up! Last week, 2 out of my 3 kids got the dreaded FLU! Yuck!

But now, we are well again and I have finally had a *little* bit of crafty-time! Halloween is almost here so I wanted to squeeze in one more project! I decided to participate in the Get Sketchy challenge this week! I have really missed doing it...I just love their sketches!

Boo!

I am in the midst of some cute Halloweeny projects around here:

Ashlynn has a birthday/costume party to go to on Fri. so we are making a nice 'festive' gift & packaging! Fun! I can't WAIT to see Ashlynn all dressed up in her Cleopatra costume. The make-up will be the best part! I will have to take some pics for sure!!

I am also trying to get some goodies together so that we can 'boo!' some friends. In case you haven't heard of it, it's explained HERE. So, that should be fun, too! I will try to remember to take pics of those as well!

For now, here's a little spooky card I did with lots of Making Memories Spook Alley papers & embellies! I love the vintagey feel of this line. But I think what sold me onthe whole thing were those ADORABLE felt ghosts!

Pretty basic card, I really wanted to focus to be on the ghost and the cool papers! I did run a black marker along all of the details that are embossed on the ghost--I think that makes the detail stand out a LOT more!

Pass the coffee...

I honestly have no idea WHY I am so drawn to images of mugs and other coffee-related items! But I always want more of them! I can't seem to pass 'em up...

I don't drink coffee. At all.

I occasionally (if the weather is cool) I like a nice cappuccino or hot cocoa. But it is definately not an every-day, gotta-have-it type of thing for me! But I DO like stamping them! lol

So here is a card using one of my MANY mug stamps and a sentiment that I'm sure lots of people DO identify with!

I *think* the stamps are from TPC and the patterned paper is Cosmo. I also used my MS loopy border punch, Nesties, and some Kaiser Craft bling!

Finally back!

Oh. My.

So, I honestly had tried to come back and post like I promised.

Honest I did.

And then my hubby ended up in the ER with some blood pressure/pulse issues. And then my daughter ened up there as well with the FLU! She has been home since FRIDAY!! I am hoping and praying that she can go back tomorrow---not only for her health but for my sanity! She and Tyler are fighting like crazy! I didn't know a two-year old and nine-year old could FIGHT. But they can...

So. I have LOTS to share. Lots of stuff just waiting to be posted! Hopefully this will be the start of a trend! I used to be so good at posting...lol

So here is the first of MANY Halloween projects! I don't even really know what I'm going to DO with all of them---I just love all the Halloween stuff that's out this year!

I just LOVE that stamp! It's another $ stamp, of course! Perfect size for some googley-eyes! The glitter paper isfrom K & Co., Shaped paper is from the dollar bin at Target. And I used my cool Nestabilities for the circles!

I think ribbon and the googley-eyes make a nice 'pop' on an otherwise plain card!

Life

Hopefully my blog readers haven't completely given up on me! lol

I haven't posted in well over a month and that's because I really haven't had much to share crafty-wise. I decided I needed a little break from blogging and crafting...just a SHORT one. My oldest son is a senior this year, so this is his last soccer season. I make dinner for the varsity team before all the home games. Yes. You read that right---what can I say? I'm crazy! ;-) And I have tried to go to as many games as humanly possible for one who also has a 9 year old and an almost 2 year old. The last month has been so busy with soccer, karate, horseback riding lessons, homework, and the pondering of potty-training! I also just felt like I really needed to re-prioritize and spend more time with the family.

 
 

  
 

So. That's what I've been up to...I've enjoyed the break from crafting, but now I am ready to jump back in! I will be back VERY soon with some more posts and some projects!

So, how's the weather? Our weather here in southern PA is GORGEOUS! Sunny, breezy, low 70's. I do love summer, but I can deal with fall if stays like this a while!

Tyler and I played outside for a while today but I did manage to get some 'playtime' of my own in while he was napping this afternoon. I have been wanting to send another card to Sonda & Baylee to hopefully brighten their day. Sonda is such a faithful, wonderful person & mother...I wish I could fill the card with words of wisdom and encouragement. I am going to try. I have had struggles with my own daughter but have never faced what Sonda and Duane are facing with Baylee. I do what VERY little I can to help: just continue to pray for peace for them and comfort for Bay.

 

Papers and stickers are by October Afternoon. They are positively delish! Pics do NOT do them justice! I also stamped the cherries with a Basic Grey stamp that was inked up with two colors of ink---I think it looks really neat with the text pattern.

 

And here it is filled up with a few goodies for Baylee...

I finally got my Cosmo Cricket Earth Love and Early Bird Mini Decks on Friday! It seemed like forever till they were in stock! I couldn't wait to break them in so I turned to a trust sketch to get me started!

School's IN!

Today was the first day back for my kids. I have to admit, it was kinda nice to get up and start the day EARLY. I didn't do it all summer! lol But it was great to have all my 'stuff' done by lunchtime and have some long periods of quiet during naptime. Things will be more hectic as soccer starts and homework starts rollin' in but for now, I am going to try to enjoy the added 'me' time that school provides!

I have been seeing these ALL over blogland and had to make one myself for Ashlynn's teacher as a welcome back gift! I took the pic last night so it's really horrible and dark but you get the idea...

2S4Y-Laura's Sketch 33

I know---my post titles are BEYOND boring! I wish I could think of better ones.

So here is a card I whipped up late one night---I really wanted to use those stamps and patterned paper together on a card. I think it turned out OK---a little simpler than my recent stuff but I guess that's all right. I like to try to NOT get in a rut using the same stuff over & over anyway!

When I have already decided which elements I definately want to use on a card, a sketch always comes in handy! So I used Laura's #33 from 2 Sketches 4 You! Here is the sketch:

It's not a great pic and the coloring doesn't look THAT bad in person! lol I may need to break down and jump on the Copic bandwagon even though I PROMISED myself that I did NOT need them! lol They are increasingly harder to resist...

I used Cosmo Cricket paper and I *think* the stamps are Hampton Art. I used Stickles on the acorn because it was just TOO plain for me---I had to sneak some tasteful BLING in there somewhere...!
